Tenuta Amalia
a country estate, infused with taste and tradition, in the green Valmarecchia
Tenuta Amelia, also known as "La Rossa" (the red) for the traditional colour of the family mansion and its centuries-old farm houses, rises from the center of the splendid Marecchia valley, embracing both shores of the river. The estate owes its name to Carolina Amalia of Brunswick, the wife of George IV, king of England, who resided here for prolonged periods and whose memories still grace the villa. At the dawn of the 1900's the estate was restored to its original splendour thanks to Gea della Garisenda, famous operetta singer and wife of senator Borselino. Today the estate has over 160 hectares cultivated, featuring vineyards that produce the renowned wines of "Tenuta Amalia", all available for sampling at the Cantina della Gea.
The Tenuta includes 3 restaurants with a unique offering: "terra, mare e cielo" (land, sea and sky). They are:"Rò e Bunì" serving meat;"Al Pesce Azzurro" serving fish; and " 'e Cròin" serving fowl.
